Drug Uses
Diflucan is an antifungal agent, used to treat yeast infections caused by fungus candida. Diflucan can be indicated at any age and used for treatment of Candida infections in the first days of a child's life.
Diflucan is effective in the treatment of infectious diseases of different systems and organs, and it is approved for antifungal therapy of:
acute or recurrent vaginal candidiasis; onychomycosis; oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis; dermal candidiasis; coccidioidomycosis; candidal balanitis; cryptococcal meningitis; disseminated candidiasis; chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis; urinary tract candidiasis; chronic oral atrophic candidiasis; invasive candidiasis.
Diflucan dosage depends on the type and severity of Candida infections, and can range from 100mg to 400mg per day. The maximum dose of Diflucan of 400 mg should be used only for the treatment of serious fungal infections.
Missed Dose
If you’ve forgotten to take a pill of Diflucan, take it as soon as you remember about the missed dose. If you’ve remembered about the missed dose of the antifungal agent later, and it is almost the time to take another dose of Diflucan, skip the missed dose of this drug and adhere to your regular dosing schedule.
More Information
Diflucan can be indicated to immunocompetent patients and immunocompromised patients. Patients at high risk of recurrence of vaginal candidiasis and cryptococcal meningitis, and patients taking chemotherapeutic agents or (and) passing radiotherapy may use oral Diflucan to prevent te recurrence of Candida infection.
Storage
Diflucan tablets should be protected from light and moisture and stored at the room temperature not above 30ºC.

Warnings
In rare cases Diflucan may cause drug-induced hepatotoxic reactions, which increase the risk of development of hepatic injury. The antifungal therapy duration and used doses of Diflucan do not affect the risk of hepatotoxic reactions. Diflucan Side Effects
