Drug uses
Adalat is recommended to treat adult patients characterized by calcium atoms flow from the extracellular compartment to the artery cells associated with serious cardiac and vascular pathologies, such as:

The mechanism of Adalat action involves relaxation of the blood vessel walls and blood flow improvement. Adalat is characterized by the fact that this anti-hypertensive agent does not affect a heartbeat.
An adequate drug application reduces pain feeling in the chest. To protect the heart, the large and small arteries, 20 and 40 mg of Adalat should be taken daily divided in two or three doses. Gradually, the daily Adalat dosage can be increased to 80 mg equally separated.
The dosing regimen is required to be adjusted under the combined treatment of hypertension, cerebrovascular disease, and low body weight.
Missed dose
Adalat pills should be taken with 2-3 hour gap between doses. If the patient takes drug 2-3 times a day at equal intervals, minor changes in the dosing regimen are allowed. If the pill intake was missed, and it is the time for the next dose, the missed pill is better to be skipped.

Grapefruit juice can significantly change (increase) the pharmacodynamic properties of Adalat, so it is not recommended while taking this antihypertensive agent.
