Amaryl - a medicine of group of sulphonylurea, the peroral hypoglycemic medicine. It has an initially prolonged effect. The mechanism of action consists in stimulation of secretion and release of insulin from beta cells of a pancreas (pancreatic effect). It also increases sensitivity of fatty and muscular tissues to effect of insulin (extrapancreatic effect).

Pharmacological influence of Calan is explained by braking of a flow of calcium ions through the slowed-down calcic tubules of cellular covers of smooth muscle structure of vessels and a cardiac muscle. Calan is prescribed if it was diagnosed paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (except WPW syndrome), sinus tachycardia, premature atrial contraction, blinking and atrial flutter, stenocardia (inc. stress, postinfarction), arterial hypertension, hypertensive crisis, idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Dulcolax - purgative. Causes irritation of the receptor of bowels, exerts direct impact at mucous membrane of intestines, strengthening its peristaltics and increasing secretion of slime in a large intestine. It is effective at hypotonic and colonic inertia for regulation of fecal matter. Sometimes it is taken at preparation for surgeries, instrumental examinationand and radiological researches.

Fosamax - drug for treatment of Paget disease, osteoporosis at women in a postmenopause, osteoporosis at men, a hypercalcemia at malignant tumors. Active alendronate ingredient - non-hormonal specific inhibitor of an osteoclastic bone resorption, suppresses osteoclasts. Taking of Fosamax stimulates bone formation, recovers positive balance between a resorption and recovery of a bone, progressively increases the mineral density of bones, promotes formation of a normal bone tissue with normal histologic structure.

Septra - Sulfamethoxazole is an antibiotic that treats various types of infections caused by bacteria. The combination of sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim is used to treat ear infection, urinary tract infection, prostate infection, bronchitis, travelers' diarrhea and pneumocystis pneumonia. The drug is available in the form of tablets, as well as in liquid form.

Seroquel - treats acute and chronic psychoses, including schizophrenia. The drug is also prescribed to patients with manic episodes associated with bipolar disorders.
